Dolphin Play

I don’t generally blog about stuff that circulates on the web, but my dear, darling husband SlowCoach sent me this today and it was too gorgeous for words. I went to the snopes website and they confirmed it as fact. Nature is a marvellous thing! Enjoy!

Two Months …

It’s been TWO MONTHS!!! since I last wrote in my blog. I have no idea why any of you keep visiting to check in on me … I have no idea if anyone still visits to check in on me! Anyway – things have been busy and I’ve been slack but I need to get my head into gear and get back to a normal life. So I’ll start by updating my blog.

I won’t overwhelm you with everything I’ve been doing – instead I’ll show you what’s got Picky’s curiosity sparked at the moment. Fairy penguins.

Aren’t they cute?! Can you see them? This new wordpress setup is confusing … I’m not sure if the photos are working … But behind our house there’s a big paddock and on the other side of that is a hill down to the beach. Dotted all up the hill, all the way down to the beach, and on the rocks at the beach are penguin nests. Dozens of them. And they’ve all got penguins in them at the moment. Pretty big babies … One had and egg but the rest of the babies are almost adult sized. We sat down on the beach until nearly dark the other night, Picky and Sparkle desperate to see the mum and dad penguins waddle in from the ocean. But they didn’t come. We’d probably have to wait until it’s really really dark, and then I’d be nervous about walking back up the bushy track in the dark. I fall over in the light – I’m bound to break my neck in the night!
