Well, the day is drawing to a close and I have no idea what to write about … So naturally I googled “blog ideas” where I found a site called “101 Great Posting Ideas That Will Make Your Blog Sizzle“. Talk about a load of codswallop … Wonderful ideas like “write a funny post” … Geez … if I could write a funny post I wouldn’t be searching the internet for blog ideas! How completely, randomly useless is that?! And the other 100 ideas? Not much better … “Write a tutorial” On what pray tell?! “Do a speedlinking post” WTF?!
So I have a better idea. Here’s five random things for the day. Why five I hear you ask? No idea … seems like a good random number. But if I can’t think of five things, I’ll come back to this paragraph and replace the four fives with another number. Okey dokey?!
- Dory got an A+ for his bassoon exam. Way to go Dory! I’ve never had a student get an A+ before! I think his examiner was very generous
- Do you want to know what a plate looks like? Not a plate you eat dinner off … A
plate that stretches your jaw. Sparkle has an orthodontic plate in. His upper jaw is becoming 1/4 millimetre wider every day! It’s not an attractive thing. Reminds me of poor old Willy Wonka in Johnny Depp’s version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory … It ain’t an attractive device… - I’m on a diet. A meal replacement kind of diet. Can I state at this point in time, that I am absolutely hopeless! I can’t stick to anything for ten seconds! I have the concentration span of a gnat … I’ve lost 2.7kg but if we’re going to be honest, then I have to confess that we had fish and chips for tea (no – fish and chips are not on the recommended foods list) and I had two pieces of cake this afternoon. Two! I will get back on track now. Right now!
We have baby birds in our tree. They look very cute. I think they’re finches? But don’t quote me. I know bugger all about birds… I just know they’re tiny. And so is their mother. Only the mother is bigger than the babies …- And the fifth random thing? Hmm .. well we got back a very large tax return this year. Yippee!! So I bought myself something I’ve wanted for ages and ages… A Le Creusset casserole dish. If you go to the link, it’s the round one on the left. I’ll have to make a casserole now! I have one recipe … I need more recipes. I am patiently waiting for everyone to send me their wonderful casserole recipes now. Patiently waiting … Only thing I’ve made in it so far is macaroni cheese … Need something a bit more special! It was a bit expensive you know … Ok – very expensive! But I got it for $90 off! Didn’t seem to appease SlowCoach though – I should rename him GrumbleBum for the time being. He was struggling to see the $269 value of it. Just wait until my grandchildren’s grandchildren pass it on to their grandchildren. Then we’ll see how valuable it is!
Dear Slow Coach
Le Creuset makes *AWESOME* cookware. I’m not sure if you purchase many tools, but when you purchase tools do you buy the “good stuff” that “lasts forever,” or do you get the “crap” that “falls apart when you need it most.” Le Creuset makes “high quality kitchen tools.” Took me a long time to convince Spouse that I needed good quality cookware, but once I used the “tools” example he got it.
Simone, what kind of foods does your family like? I was seriously thinking of starting up a recipe blog, so I could put a few casserole recipes on there. How many liters does it hold??
